Ditch and Switch
In today’s world, some of the most dangerous things that affect our health are things we willingly expose ourselves to on a daily basis. And some of these things might not be what you expect! In fact, you might be completely oblivious to the fact that the products we use on ourselves, in our home, on our children, and in our everyday lives, could be the very things that are contributing to why we’re sick, why we have health problems, why we struggle emotionally, and why we are not living a life full of wellness, purpose, and abundance.
Thieves is the spotlight oil in all of the Young Living Products that I've used for the ditch and switch. Give me all the Thieves! It contains Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, Lemon, and Rosemary! It's power packed to keep us healthy, and it's safe for all members of the family, including babies, kids, and furry friends!
There is a whole spectrum of Thieves products from Young Living, which contain the powerful Thieves essential oil blend. From toothpaste, to hand purifier, to an amazing all-purpose cleaner, it’s easily one of the most popular oils for this reason. One of the most popular products is the Thieves Household Cleaner. It is a concentrate, so all you need to use is only one or two capfuls of the cleaner mixed with water in a large spray bottle. With this, you can use it to clean your countertops, floors, toilets, mirrors, tubs, everything in your home. On top of that, it is safe to use around your babies, kids, animals, and elderly family members, without toxins and harsh chemicals that could be damaging to the body.
For 2020, I decided to gradually ditch all of our cleaning products and make the switch to a mix of Young Living and homemade cleaning products. The Thieves line from Young Living has been life changing! We are saving money because all of the products we buy can make 2, 3 or even 4 additional products! We also have peace of mind when Liv decides to lick the play room windows or eat her snacks off of the floor. I am going to share some of the products we've purchased below in addition to some of my DIY cleaning products for the good 'ole ditch and switch!
Must have products!

How to DIY All purpose cleaner
Start with a 16 oz glass spray bottle (linked in my finds). Add a capful of Thieves Household Cleaner. Then add essential oils of your choice. I put about 5 drops of both thieves and lavender in my first bottle. Lemon is also a great oil to add because it is great on tough stains! Fill the rest with water and voila! I use this on EVERYTHING!
Window cleaner because Boomer's nose makes quite the mess
16 oz spray bottle, capful of household cleaner, and water. That's it!
Thieves scrub for kitchen sink and bathrooms
Start with a mason jar (linked in finds). Fill it with baking soda. Then add a capful of the household cleaner, a few squirts of the dish soap and a few drops of lemon essential oil. I will add water to it before I want to use it to make it easier to grab. I'll lather it all over, let it sit for about 20 minutes, then wipe clean!
DIY Dish soap
One dish soap bottle can be used to make 3 total bottles. I use my old bottles, but check out my finds for other options. Take one bottle of the dish soap, pour 1/3 into 3 different bottles. Add a tablespoon of baking soda to each bottle. Top with water and this will last about 4-6 months! Of course you can add a few drops of your favorite cleaning essential oil(s) as well!
Buy one bottle of Thieves laundry soap to make three 32 oz bottles (glass pump bottles linked in finds). 1/3 of the laundry soap goes into each bottle. Throw a cap full of Thieves household cleaner into each bottle and add some oils of your choice. Lemon, lavender, Thieves would be my top picks!
This is only a small snapshot of what the Thieves line can do for you and your family! Happy Thieves-ing!
