Summer Must Haves

Right now in Pennsylvania the temps are below freezing, but we have summer on the brain. I like to start stocking up on summer must haves in April so we are ready to go when the weather allows us to be outside for hours on end. Here are some of my must haves! You might not know this, but most sunscreens work because they are chemically based. The chemicals “protect” you by absorbing the sun’s rays. Mineral sunscreens, don’t get absorbed into your body at all. They sit on top of your skin and REFLECT the sun’s rays. Keeping the sun’s harmful rays from penetrating (and damaging) the skin! There are two ingredients you’ll see in mineral sunscreens, usually in combination: zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. We LOVE YL Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50. And unlike harmful chemical sunscreens, our sunscreen contains zero toxins and actually NOURISHES the skin! A sunscreen that is actually good for the skin? Yes please!

I absolutely love Young Living’s insect repellent. I personally love the wipes because they are great to pack and easy to apply! It smells great and nourishes the skin!

If you haven’t tried Ningxia Red yet, summer is the perfect time. It’s so refreshing and great for hydration. It is Young Living’s antioxidant drink. I stock up on the plastic pouches and freeze them for the kids. They are great for the playground too!

Another drink I absolutely love especially in the warmer months is Zyng. It’s Young Living’s energy drink. It has 35 mg of caffeine from white tea extract. It definitely hits different on the beach with a splash of Ningxia (or vodka, no judgment here).

Owie is a roller for bumps, bruises and scrapes. It’s a must have if you have little kids who love to play outside during the warmer months. IYKYK

Lavaderm is a spray for sunburn. It is absolutely amazing. It feels great and really helps alleviate the burn and redness.

Bon voyage kit - if you plan to travel at all this summer this is a must have! It has travel sized containers of all the necessary items like shampoo, toothpaste and hand sanitizer. And it comes in a cute carrying case! WIN WIN!

Oils for Summer

  • Peppermint helps keep you cool

  • All the citrus oils like lemon and lime

  • Vitality oils for drinks (lime for margaritas and orange for Blue Moons)

  • Lavender is great for sun burn and bug bites

  • Thieves helps removes splinters

  • Citronella to keep all the bugs away

Now let’s hope Mother Nature reads this blog post and brings us warmer weather!!!

Before I bought my first tiny bottles of essential oils, I would get bad colds and even sinus infections that lasted 1-2 weeks. They lingered! I want to share this because I know we don’t have time to
